Case Study
ALDI
In October 2013, ALDI the German food retailer had 300 stores in the UK. By 2017 this had grown to over 600 stores, opening at a rate of more than one a week and are now planning 1200 stores by 2025.
To support this growing number of stores, a new series of Regional Distribution Centres would be needed to ensure that food stocks can be easily and efficiently distributed around the UK store network.
Allsigns were selected by the specialist contractor who build the RDC’s to supply the large illuminated letters and logo’s which are located on the side of the buildings as well as the internal and external corporate and directional signage.
Having successfully completed the signage at the ALDI RDC on the Isle of Sheppey, the next development was in Sawley in Derbyshire. This is ALDI’s largest RDC to date, the £64 Million site which spans over 600,000sq ft has created 400 jobs and is designed specifically to service ALDI’s customer base across the East Midlands.
Our installation crews succesfully completed all of the signage across the site, from the high level work to working in the chiller and freezer areas before the target date when the RDC went live.
