File Formats

If scanning photographs or creating digital imagery always save these as EPS or TIFF files. This will preserve the colour and clarity of the image. The TIFF format is the highest quality and is strongly recommended as our prefered artwork file.

Colour Matching and Reprodution

Computers, scanners and digital cameras create images using combinations of just three colours: Red, Green and Blue (called RGB). Printing uses four different colours to produce images: Cyan, Magenta,Yellow and Black (called CMYK or Process colour). RGB images must be converted to CMYK.

For colour matching purposes we use:
  • Pantone (PMS) for print colour references. The Pantone colour guides have been widely adopted by artists, designers, printers, manufacturers, marketers and clients in a variety of industries worldwide for accurate colour identification.
  • RAL colours for powder coating. RAL colours are used for defining standard colours for paint and powder coatings. These colours are standard for use in architecture, construction and industry.

All references must be supplied by the client along with their artwork.
